Alex Israel‘s red, orange, and blue paintings were turned into chic Summer accessories, as the artist teamed up with the luxury brand, Louis Vuitton to create the new On the Beach fragrance and matching surfboard. Design Limited Edition is going to tell you everything about this new line, evoking a beautiful day on the beach.
It isn’t the first time Alex Israel’s sunset-like ombré of red, orange, and blue painting gave the inspiration to transform different objects. This time, a fresh new fragrance from Louis Vuitton, aptly named On the Beach is born from the artist’s modern paintings.
The new perfume joins Louis Vuitton’s collection of fragrances with playful summer titles and the artist-designed bottles – Sun Song, Cactus Garden, Afternoon Sun, and California Dream. It is a spritely blend of yuzu, neroli, and aromatic herbs. Crafted by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the perfume is meant to invoke afternoons on the beach.
Matching accessories and a limited-edition surfboard were created to celebrate this collaboration and the Eau de parfum’s debut! The shades of colors present in the paintings adorn both the perfume bottle, packaging, and surfboard.
Surfing represents so many things that are related to the concept behind the new scent. A connectivity to nature, the magic of Southern Californian culture, freshness, and freedom. It felt very natural to extend that into the realm of surf culture, and of course, surfboards happen to be incredibly beautiful, evocative forms.Alex Israel
