While we patiently wait for another unique chance to explore the best of contemporary art galleries and collectible exclusive design in next year’s edition, today Design Limited Edition shows to you a review the highlights of this year.
One of the most appreciated and acclaimed exhibited pieces was this powerful and unique masterpiece by the major contemporary artist Anish Kapoor. This stunning and modern sculpture is made with stainless steel and resin.
Also by Anish Kapoor, the Split (Oriental Blue To Cobalt Blue) and the Random Triangle Mirror were present in Galleria Continua. Made both by stainless steel and lacquer, these are exclusive pieces with a contemporary and unique design.
The amazing humanoid sculpture by Yinka Shonibare presented by James Cohan Gallery in Art Basel Miami 2018 surprised everyone. With a huge and true inspiration in the classical goddess Venus, this is a fine art piece with a contemporary twist. A craftsmanship masterpiece!
About modern sculptures, one of the oldest concepts in Art’s History was present in this art fair: The Love. The steel sculpture by Jeff Koons presented by the Gagosian Art Gallery evokes this ancient artistic perception.
Claudia Wieser was one of the most relevant artists in the Sies + Höke’s showcase with her colorful and minimalist Untitled art pieces created in 2018. Her sculptures are perfect examples of how art and design can be merged together to create something beautiful and functional at the same time.
The Haas Brothers were the stars of this year’s edition, not only thanks to their solo exhibition Ferngully but also with their works showcased by Marianne Boesky Gallery.
One of the most interesting emerging artists was the young Japanese artist and master artisan Takuro Kuwata. He reveals being a prodigy in contemporary ceramics and his works were showcased by Salon 94 in Art Basel 2018.
Exhibited by Galerie Chantal Crousel, this colorful glass sculpture is made by Jean-Luc Moulène.
Directly from the Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, came the wonderful and modern art pieces by Claire Falkenstein, that stand out with their concept of destruction and decay.
Contrasting with Claire’s artworks, Art Basel Miami 2019 had Barbara Chase-Riboud evoking wealth and luxury with her exclusive design.
Last but not least, one of the most relevant highlights of this design exhibition was a golden surprise: the work of art by Gonzalo Lebrija in Travesía Cuatro.
