Bottega Veneta‘s new creative Daniel Lee has been making massive changes since he got his new role. During Miami Art Basel, Daniel decided to switch things up a bit and give the Miami art and fashion crowd a new kind of dining experience. He took over Miami’s legendary 11th street diner and turned it into The Bottega Diner.
The space is fully wrapped in gold, one of BV’s signature colors giving the guests an exclusive experience when dining. Guests can enjoy burgers wrapped in gold, metal gold straws with their classic 11th street spiked milkshakes and gold salt and pepper shakers. From the napkins to the menus, everything has been re-designed by Daniel.
The Bottega Diner, a pop-up restaurant and bar that will remain open until December 14, furthered Lee’s thinking as to what highbrow and elevated can be. The tactic takes a confident sightline down a unique, gilded premise: if Bottega Veneta can make the lowly diner feel special and memorable, Lee is onto something really, frankly, powerful. It’s a subtle suggestion that anything can really be luxurious, when handled correctly and, of course, bathed in a bit of gold.
The Art Basel fair in Miami Beach often feels like a work of performance art in and of itself. Celebrities, influencers, and art types fly in from all over the world with their most avant-garde outfits. There are a million parties, with a million and one DJs trying to be the next Diplo. Oh, and then there’s the art, which is just as colorful and flashy as Miami itself. The whole thing is a sensory overload, but Bottega Veneta offers you some respite this season with this temporary residency at the historic 11th Street Diner on South Beach that will catch everyone’s attention.
