VOMO / THOMAS MORE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
With an open minded focus on the architecture of furniture, inspired by industry as well as arts & crafts, combining conceptual approaches with a maker’s attitude, networking between professional designers and organisations. The furniture prototypes on show present the four aspects of our postgraduate in furniture design: our aim to innovate, with an eye for both crafts and technology, realized within our extensive furniture network and tested in an international context.
MAGNETIC FURNITURE THAT BREAKES THE RULES
Engineering know-how meets puristic design. This results in mag(net)ic furniture systems that outrun conventional furnishing. Our pieces of furniture are no fixed or unmodifiable elements, but offer the maximum regarding flexibility and freedom of design. Modules can easily be attached or rearranged with only one single movement like plug & play devices. And this has become reality without the necessity of tools, thanks to nearly wear-free magnetic connection technologies developed by Puzzles and high quality “made in Germany“.
CHARLOTTE ANNE DUCKWORTH
STERLING SILVER AND HOLLY CUTLERY COLLECTION
Charlotte Anne Duckworth makes enchanting cutlery by bringing together silver and wood, capturing and preserving the qualities of both materials, transforming them into magical utensils. She couples Sterling Silver, and Holly uniting the natural texture and form of found wood with the delicacy and elegance of silver. Designed with function, beauty and rooted in the English landscape. She couples Sterling Silver, robust but capable of subtle qualities, and Holly, a hard, durable wood. Each piece has its own personality and narrative which is brought to life by its owner.

Collecting your own electricity? In a white cube? On a flexible floor? Guided by your hands? Everything is possible. Choose your own future.

They present practical and poetic »Wearable Devices« designed not to alter individual life plans, but to create enjoyable experiences.
