Two giants united for a single… bottle. This is what happened with Dom Perignon statuette – Balloon Venus – especially designed by Jeff Koons for this champagne brand’s limited edition.
Ballon Venus was Koons’ sculpture for Dom Perignon, that sells for $20,000 a pop. This ingenious man of arts, who has worked with Lady Gaga and BMW, such as other names of fame, was inspired by the Venus of Willendorf, one of the oldest statuettes in the world, that archeologists estimate was made sometime between 24,000 and 22,000 BCE. The curvaceous figure shows the beauty pattern in those ages. For him, its “masculine and feminine at the same time”.
The man who says champagne is the top drink when he goes on to a celebration, admited he “always heard [that the shape] of the champagne glass came from the breast of Marie Antoinette,”. The vintage celebration with champagne is a reference to time, so as the Venus.
