Marius Warsinski took Gaetano Pesce‘s iconic modern art creation and gave it a little twist. We are already used to seeing multiple recreations of this furniture design, and this one comments on impossible female beauty standards and the constant aim for perfection by women themselves but also from the beauty industry.

The ‘Maestà Soffrente’ (the chair’s original name) was made in 1969, and the original meaning behind Gaetano Pesce‘s modern design was the suffering of women and the disparity between sexes. Warsinksi’s contemporary art recreation wants to pass the same message as well as the objectification that women suffer from nowadays.

This art furniture‘s version of Gaetano Pesce is called ‘Nagababa’, which means ‘Naked Woman’ in Polish. It is a massive modern armchair but also the embodiment of the classic ideal of the female figure. This modern furniture was made by Warmhouse Studio to create some kind of awareness when it comes to today’s mass culture and its way of promoting the “ideal women body”.
