Earlier this year we featured H Furniture’s Windsor-inspired WW Chair, which was designed by Hierve, and now the company has launched a new collaboration with Studio Makgill, a Brighton-based branding agency.
New limited edition versions of the WW Chair, where the two Ws stand for Windsor and Wire, now come in six bold color ways showcasing the agency’s adventurous side. The WW Chair Color Series offer the same mix of modern and traditional through both form and materials, but now an adventurous twist.
Until now, the WW Chair has only been available in plain oak and stained black oak versions, and now the Colour Series lets clients leave subtlety at the door. They can choose multiples of the same color way, or they can mix it up and different ones.

The new limited-edition version of the chair retains exactly the same form as the original WW chair but plays with the possibilities of introducing bold color. Studio Makgill has experimented with six new colour-ways, using striking juxtapositions between seat, back and legs, within a defined color palette. Each ccolourway has been made in a limited number, so that clients can order several pieces of one single colourway or a mixed selection between the 6 different options.
The WW chair Colour Series is an exploration of permutation, possibility and perception — an adventure in colour and collaboration that puts Studio Makgill’s distinctive stamp firmly on the WW chair. The final colour set was not an exercise in subtlety, but confirmation that the original form can take such a bold intervention.
