Louis Vuitton’s New Poinçon de Genève Watch

The new “Poinçon de Genève” watch, or “Geneva Seal” in English, is an exciting new phase for Louis Vuitton watchmaking and, as it couldn’t be in another way, Design Limited Edition has all the information’s for you. Reserved to makers of fine watches, the Flying Tourbillon watch is the first timepiece bearing the highly prestigious “Poinçon de Genève” seal.

Time stands still as Louis Vuitton makes a statement with the introduction of  a Flying Tourbillon with Poinçon de Genève. The timepiece was developed entirely at La Fabrique du Temps, the Louis Vuitton watch manufacture. It took 18 months to design this extraordinary timepiece.

With the debut of this new luxury toy, Louis Vuitton joins the league of watch manufacturers that have the Poinçon de Genève a certification reserved for watch movements made in the Canton of Geneva and bearing the highest levels of finishing and decoration.

The transparent timepiece offers around-the-clock show of the flying tourbillon movement from all angles. Also, the dial is slightly transparent, allowing a superb view of the mainspring that holds an astonishing 80 hours. Inside the 43 mm platinum case, a vertically mounted gear-train can be seen along with the triple V bridges, inspired by the Louis Vuitton slogan, “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez.”

Hamdi Chatti, Vice President of Watches & Jewelry at Louis Vuitton justifies the decision to obtain the prestigious Geneva Seal, “Well, clients of Louis Vuitton have never challenged us on the quality, and when we bring the Geneva Seal to our clients, people who enjoy the best that life can offer, there is no need to explain further. The value of the Geneva Seal is understood immediately.”

Intended to be sold directly to the dedicated clients, only two of these watches will be made per month. The latest and the most outstanding watch from the French luxury brand is estimated to sell at about $200,000 each. A small price to pay to have innovative luxury watches in our wrist.
