Scone & Crombie Suite at the Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel
Relaunched in April as part of the Balmoral’s multimillion-dollar hotel upgrade, this Edinburgh icon’s de facto Presidential suite has been completely redesigned by Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotel’s director of design, to be the ultimate base for families, VIPs, and visiting heads of state. Spread out over 2,368 square feet (and available with either two or three bedrooms), the sanctuary features a spacious foyer ideal for private check-ins, a private dining area, an elegant master bedroom, and a living room complete with a working fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Old Town.
Splendid Heritage Suites at Splendid Venice
Formerly one of the city’s historic textile shops, the traditional Venetian-style building next door to the Splendid Venice, a Starhotels Collezione property, was recently purchased by the hotel and carefully converted into 12 oversized Heritage Suites. Drawing inspiration from the building’s and the region’s textile and glass-making traditions, designer Andrea Auletta has decorated the spaces, which debuted in May, with rich pleated curtains, velvet armchairs, inlaid mirrors, and Murano-made glass pieces.

Grand Pavilion Suite at the Berkeley
Soak up panoramic views of London’s swanky Belgravia neighborhood and beyond from the spectacular Grand Pavilion Suite at the Berkeley. Launched earlier this spring by interior architect Andre Fu, the suite is set inside a three-sided glass pavilion and lined by a wraparound terrace.
Avanti Suite at Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria
Now run by the fifth generation of the Fiorentino family, the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Sorrento is an icon of the Italian coast (and an ideal getaway for yacht-loving vacationers). The hotel has hosted several movie and TV shoots—including for the 1972 Bill Wilder comedy Avanti, starring Jack Lemmon and Juliet Mills. In honor of that movie, this brand-new suite—created by combining two deluxe rooms—is decorated with select memorabilia from the film.
Princess Grace Suite at the Shelbourne Dublin
As part of the Shelbourne Dublin’s multimillion-euro renovation and restoration by noted designer Guy Oliver, several rooms of the stately grande dame have been redone, including its top Princess Grace Suite named in honor of that famous former guest. The two-bedroom haven now features sophisticated decor punctuated by pops of color and handpicked antiques sourced from local dealers.
Josephine Baker Suite at Le Bristol Paris
Though born in the United States, legendary dancer, entertainer, and artist Josephine Baker made her name in France, where she became an icon of the Jazz Age. In addition to framed photographs of Baker taken on the property and a 1934 portrait of her, the 753-square-foot space features pleated silk lampshades, Louis XVI–style rosewood furnishings, marble bathroom flooring, and fabrics by Pierre Frey, Loro Piana, and Manuel Canovas.
