In the next edition of Maison et Object in January 2019, Sebastian Herkner will receive the “Designer Of The Year” award and will be recognized as one of the best designers of nowadays.
The German designer, Sebastian Herkner, is a regular attendant of the Maison & Objet interior design fair and design exhibition. He also considers this amazing occasion as the unique opportunity to show off his design philosophy to Paris.
Trained at Offenbach University of Art and Design and actually with 37 years old, this designer is embarking on an ever-growing number of collaborations with international design houses. Same of the collaborations ongoing at 2018 is Moroso, Dedon, Thonet, and Lintello. Over the course of the past decade, he has received some thirty design awards in recognition of his innovative yet traditional work.
For his exceptional creative design projects, the meteoric success was imminent and already reflected in numerous awards and prizes, among them the 2011 German Design Award in the Newcomer category and the 2015 EDIDA Elle Decoration International Design Award as Best International Newcomer.
Sebastian Herkner is a master because he creates designs that fuse tradition with creativity, modern technology with craftsmanship, always building a contemporary interior design. In 2006 he founded his own studio for objects, interior design and exhibition design in Offenbach am Main.
The German designer has a longstanding habit of quenching his thirst for ideas elsewhere and the different cultures, skills, and lifestyles all fuel his inspiration. Today, Sebastian Herkner works for international companies, designs furniture and lamps, porcelain and glass, and also curates and stages exhibitions dealing with design.
