Experimental design workshop and laboratory Ublik has created an algorithm-based gigantic stool in the courtyard of the Musée des Archives Nationales. The furniture-turned-monument aims to triggering a change in thinking and raise questions about the venue that serves as its backdrop.

Parisian lighting designer Céline Wright teamed up with Spanish design house Grok to create a flurry of glowing sails in the main staircase of the Musée des Archives Nationales. Ten or so lights made from two rigid shells constructed from Washi paper dance through the air overlapping against the painted ceiling.

Until September 29, BHV Marais celebrates Italian creativity with an exhibition curated by Milan design ‘pristiess’ Rossana Orlandi. On display during Paris Design Week 2019 will be, furniture by some of the most cutting-edge companies like Seletti, Delonghi, Artemide and Lagostina as well as emerging designers.

What happens when nature and use drive architectural design? True to its DNA, furniture retailer and workspace specialist RBC promotes culture, architecture and design in its Parisian showroom with Nature/People/Architecture exhibition dedicated to the work of Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. On display during Paris Design Week 2019, the recently completed White Tree building in Montpellier, the Thousand Trees in Paris and new projects unveiled the first time.

Maison Objet celebrates the US up and coming creatives with the Rising Talents showcase. At Galerie Joseph Froissart glass is protagonist within an exhibition featuring works by established designers such as Lindsey Adelman, Gabriel Scott, Allied Makers and Roll & Hill as well as French-American collaborations. The Triode Gallery explores the phenomena of illusory perceptions through the work of Calico Wallpaper, John Hogan, and Ladies & Gentlemen Studio. All the exhibition are co-presented by MAISON&OBJET, Triode and Brooklyn-based platform WantedDesign.

The collection explores the origins of our planet, the foundation of civilisation and the tension between tectonic plates.
