Veuve Clicquot Launches the International “Re-Creation Awards”

Since its creation in 1772, Veuve Clicquot has played an important role in establishing and evolving the champagne industry. In fact, since the luxury brand’s inception over 240 years ago, innovation and creativity have run deep in the Veuve Cliquot DNA.

Hosted in ten countries, the contest invites young designers and members of the public to create a limited edition of the Veuve Clicquot Mailbox. The gift box styled like a vintage American mailbox is inspired by Madame Clicquot’s archive letters to her clients, agents, and suppliers.

It’s in the continuing spirit of innovation Veuve Clicquot have launched “The Re-Creation Awards.” The brand’s first international design competition with a judging panel featuring a line-up of influential names from the world of design including renowned British designer Tom Dixon OBE and sculptor and designer Pablo Reinoso.

Veuve Clicquot Launches the International "Re-Creation Awards"The Re-creation Awards invite both amateur designers and professional artists to propose their personal interpretation of the Veuve Clicquot Mailbox via an online platform, celebrating inventive creativity in myriad forms. An initial round enabled visitors to the site to choose a winner of the contest from each country, while a panel of ten prominent specialists from the world of art and design selected their own favorite. After, the winning national duos were invited to exclusive Veuve Clicquot’s Hôtel du Marc in Reims, in the heart of Champagne, for the awards ceremony.

The creation is now available in a limited edition and was featured at Milan Design Week.
